THE BEST OF BRECHT AND STANISLAWSKI
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Best of Brecht & Stanislawski In this workshop we are using working methods for actors of Stanislawski and etudes and methods of Brecht. We look at the difference between epical and Aristotelian (dramatical) theatre and will experiment with various theatre forms – from the beginning up to now. We will analyse a hero’s journey and find out how which archetype influence a story. We will shape our acting and improvisation skills, touch the theory but mostly work practically and will hopefully develop our own hero’s journey.

Katrin Janser
was born into a theatre family. She had her first acting job with three years and her first guest performance outside Switzerland with eleven. She made an education as a drama teacher and is an official workshop leader of the Swiss and German Amateur Theatre Associations, guest lecturer at various European universities and is also teaching theatre improvisation & rhythmic at various schools in Switzerland. She was three times invited as a special cast to the international Improvisation Festival in Chicago as well as to Rio de Janeiro. She is the president of the non-profit organisation EDERED (European Drama Encounters) of the Council of Europe Strasbourg and is artistic advisor for the European Theatre House (Lingen).
