The Finnish Drama/Theatre Education Association

 

FIDEA is The Finnish Drama/Theatre Education Association which aims to promote and advocate drama and theatre in education. Association aims to provide a supportive forum for members, other associations and those working in drama and theatre education. 
The association was founded in 1972 and nowadays has over 300 members throughout our country. Its membership includes teachers, consultants, students and workers in drama and theatre in education.

THE FINNISH DRAMA/THEATRE EDUCATION ASSOCIATION:

• To help to get drama as an independent subject at school
• To organize meetings, education and training programs
• To provide an environment for all teachers to share views and concerns about drama and theatre in education 
• To keep contact to other countries and their associations and inform members of national and international conferences
• to achieve information and research drama and theatre in education and inform members about it 
• to be a Finnish member of IDEA: International Drama/Theatre and Education Association
