Saturday - D-day. We finally got the change to show everyone our hard work from the past week. Everyone was walking around being nervous, but also excited to show all the great things that we had learned. As everyday, we started our morning with the workshop to settle the last details. But it was a special day for Eden too. We sang for her in our own languages and she was very moved. Happy Birthday Eden!
In the afternoon we all got our 10 minutes on stage to rehearse one last time. Everyone was stressed out, but also very curious to watch the other performances. But first, we had to suit up to take (serious and funny) group pictures.
18:00- Everyone took a seat in the theatre, the first group was already behind the scenes and the lights dimmed. The music started and everyone became silent. What followed was a beautiful, funny, abstract, sad and emotional performance of every single workshop group. The audience applauded and the actors gracefully received their applause. We felt such a strong connection with every single performance, and of course, there where many tears and emotions at the end. We realized that our hard and intense work had been rewarded. Everyone did an amazing job. We all felt proud.
Everyone was sad that it was the last day and we had to part form each other (but not quite yet…).Afterwards, we celebrated with a pizza party and beach party, hiding from the storm. There was a lot of dancing, kissing, crying, laughing, joking, and hugging. All with great music from the awesome DJ Halil.
This week was an amazing experience for everyone. We had such a great time meeting new people and discovering their cultures. We loved how open, lovely and kind everyone was. It felt like we’ve known each other already for years.
We want to thank the organization for their hard work and for giving us the chance to meet all these incredible new people. And also want to thank the photographer for the amazing pictures. We are so grateful for this wonderful experience.
It felt like one big family we will cherish forever in our hearts.
